UNC Cans to Candelaria Thursday, September 30, 2010

Thursday, 9/30/2010 @ 9am Where: UNC Campus, Greeley This school year’s food drive collection is scheduled for Sept. 30, 2010, and is part of Homecoming Week. We support the Weld Food Bank with not only non-perishable food items but with cash, too. Scott Westfall, WFB food procurement specialist, said canned food is always appreciated, but in these economic times, cash goes further. For instance, $1 buys 6 pounds of food or $10 of food, retail. Cash donations allows the food bank to have a bigger buying capacity—and helps pay for the gas and drivers, who bring donated food to WFB from all over the country. Those UNC groups competing in the food drive competition will earn 6 pounds of credit for each $1 contributed. Homecoming spirit points are also available to those participating in the food drive. Also, one of our repeat sponsors, 99.9 The Point, helps us get the word out and will be on campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 30. We also encourage the community to support our campus food drive. Our car dealership sponsors will collect cans and cash at their stores, too, during Homecoming Week allowing community members to easily drop off donations. Information on this site provides information on how you can participate. Thanks for your consideration! Cans to Candelaria” Mission Statement: Our mission is to help feed Weld County’s hungry.

10th Annual Hope Lives Benefit Gala Saturday, October 23, 2010

Our Mission is to Support and Strengthen those touched by Breast Cancer by providing Care, Guidance & Education. Everyone knows that breast cancer is bad. But, everyone may not know how expensive care and treatment can be. You may not know how debilitating chemo can be, how impossible everyday routines can become while struggling with pain, how relationships can become strained when cancer becomes another member of the family. The Hope Lives Breast Cancer Support Center was founded in 2001 by Lydia Dody, a Ft Collins businesswoman who had battled breast cancer. After her recovery, Lydia wanted to ensure that the approximately 200 women in Larimer County and Windsor, CO diagnosed each year receive complete post-diagnosis support and care. This past Oct, our signature event was a great success, complete with pink champagne, silent auction, live auction and our fabulous Survivor Fashion Show! The gala was such a beautiful event...the survivor models were amazing and the show was a huge blessing to all... Join us on Oct 23, 2010 for another wonderful gala to benefit HopeLives! and help us care for women going through breast cancer with complimentary oncology services. Saturday, October 23, 2010 The 10th Annual Hope Lives Benefit Gala Hilton Fort Collins

Crossroads Safehouse 30th Anniversary Gala Saturday, November 06, 2010

The 30th Anniversary Gala, will prove to be our best event yet! We are certain that you will enjoy the honorees, cuisine, and entertainment that we have planned for the evening. We respectfully request that you mark your calendar for the: Crossroads Safehouse 30th Anniversary Gala Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Hilton Fort Collins As always, the funds raised at the Gala will help to provide free, comprehensive domestic abuse services for all of Larimer County. In 2009 we sheltered 33% more people than in 2008, breaking every record in Crossroads' history. Unfortunately, this substantial increase in demand for service also resulted in 138 women and children being turned away because the Safehouse was full. On November 14, 2009, the Crossroads Safehouse's 29th Anniversary Gala grossed over $130,000 to provide safe shelter, food, clothing, and numerous supportive services for the families we serve. Over 3,000 victims of domestic violence benefited from this generous support from the Larimer County community. We hope that you will join us on November 6, 2010 as we celebrate three decades of providing live-saving services to our community!
